Earlier this week, Adam Lambert teased an excited announcement via Twitter. While many assumed the news would involve a Queen collaboration, very few people expected a full blown North American tour!
Lambert and original Queen members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, are hitting several cities throughout the United States and Canada, beginning with a show on June 19 in Chicago and wrapping it up on July 20 in Washington DC.
“Let’s rock those beautiful arenas just one more time,” said May in a statement.
“I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” added Lambert in a statement.
“The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in North America is so beautifully surreal. I’m honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me.”
Lambert first joined Queen for a performance on ‘American Idol’ in 2009 singing the classic ‘We Are The Champions’. Since then, they have toured overseas and recently did a one-off show in Las Vegas during the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
