Week one of America’s Got Talent Semifinals is finally here and the 14 year-old simply known as Edon did us proud.

After several weeks of YouTube shows, pull-backs, and anything else NBC could think of to pull a few more shows out of AGT, Edon Pinchot, the kippah-wearing singer/pianist is back performing.

And performing he did. Wowing the judges and audience with his rendition of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.”

Standing ovations from both the crowd and judges and cheers of “Edon, Edon” from the crowd followed his performance.

“That was beau.ti.ful,” said Judge Howie Mandel. “That was amazing. You are, when you think of the whole competition…the best singer of the competition.”

“I imagine a lot of 13 year-old girls are going to be voting for you,” remarked Howard Stern, who also provided some criticism which was followed by harsh boos from the audience. “I was a little bit bored by that song.”

But Sharon Obsourne, the third AGT Judge, disagreed.

“I thought the song choice was spot on. It was perfect. Great song, age appropriate. Great performance. You put in everything. You are amazing.”

Edon, justifying his song choice to Howard, said that he choose the song because “I felt that it was the right choice…to get the fans on their feet.”

Edon, the fourth of five siblings, credits his sister, Arianne, now 18, for his success.

Arianne, a talented singer in her own right, introduced Edon to music.

“She has been feeding him a steady diet of Broadway musicals since he was a baby,” Laurie Pinchot, mother of Edon and Arianne, said of her daughter. “Music is what they share.”

Edon was part of the first 12 contestants to perform from the final 24. Only 3 will go through of these 12 and the competition is fierce, so don’t forget to vote for Edon at NBC.com.
