Supermodel Bar Refaeli has recently joined a campaign to end sexual violence in conflict.
Refaeli was featured in a picture, uploaded via Twitter by the British Embassy in Israel, holding up a sign with the hash tag “#TIMETOACT”. Alongside the picture, the Israeli British Embassy added the words, “Will you join her?”
Refaeli isn’t the only star joining the #TimetoAct campaign. Among other stars getting in on the action, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright and model Cara Delevingne have also been posting #TimetoAct photos similar to Refaeli’s.
“Any help is appreciated! It’s #timetoact on rape in Sri Lanka #stoptorture” Delevigne added alongside her photo.
Also involved is actress Angelina Jolie, who opened London’s four day Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict last Tuesday.
“It is a myth that rape is an inevitable part of conflict. There’s nothing inevitable about it. It is a weapon of war aimed at civilians. It has nothing to do with sex, everything to do with power,” Jolie said during the opening ceremony.
