8 Israeli Founded Companies Win Global Cleantech 100 Awards

The Cleantech Group, a global leader in cleantech intelligence, presented it's annual list of top 100 companies in clean technology.

8 Israeli Founded Companies Win Global Cleantech 100 Awards

This is the third year the Cleantech Group, an industry market intelligence company which provides Fortune 1000 global corporations, among others, with industry analysis about cleantech innovation, has presented the Global Cleantech 100, a list of the top 100 private companies in clean technology.

This year Israel has been well represented by 8 companies, 4 of which are based in Israel and 4 which were founded by Israelis but with operations in the USA.

The awards were split into three regions (North America, Europe and Israel, and Asia Pacific), with 16 countries providing entrants. Out of three regions Israel was represented in the top 10 in both North America, with BrightSource Energy, a developer of solar thermal power systems, winning the Continued Excellence award for being the highest ranked company on the list for the past three years, and in the Europe and Israel region with TaKaDu which was awared with the highest rating in the region.

Below is a list of the 8 companies and their profiles:

Israel:

Aqwise – Developer of a fixed biofilm water and wastewater treatment process for municipal and industrial markets.

Emefcy – Developer of Electrogenic Bioreactors (EBR) that treat wastewater and generate electricity.

Kaiima – Developer of genomic-based breeding technology to develop high-yielding energy crops for bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, and biomass energy.

TaKaDu – Provides a web-based Water Infrastructure Monitoring platform that enables utilities to conserve water, energy and infrastructure.


North America:

Better Place – Provides charging infrastructure and services for electric vehicles.

BrightSource Energy – Designs, develops and sells solar thermal power systems for utility and industrial companies.

GreenRoad Technology – Provider of software, hardware and change management solutions to optimize driving behavior from a safety, fuel efficiency, and vehicle stress point of view.

Tigo Energy – Provider of hardware, software and we-based applications to improve PV installation power output.
