Toronto Jewish Film Festival Celebrates Comics

The festival sets aside an event that features graphic novels.

Toronto Jewish Film Festival Celebrates Comics

As a special sidebar series, this year's Toronto Jewish Film Festival presents People of the Comic Book: The Creators of Superheroes, Graphic Novels & Toons. The event will run through April 25, which highlights Jewish comic writers, artists and illustrators, and includes three free events.

The three free ticketed events include author Paul Buhle’s illustrated talk on Jewish and Comic Art The Comic Art Forum, where Buhle will join Harvey Pekar and award-winning novelist Ben Katchor and a work-in-progress on French graphic artist Joann Sfar. People of the Comic Book will also include reading by Katchor and work-in-progress about comic artist Will Elder and Mad Magazine.

The event kicks off on Saturday, April 17. For more information, visit www.tjff.com.
