High School Musical alumnus Zac Efron – whose last name means “lark” in Hebrew – is set to star as a drug dealer in a new movie, a remake of the Swedish thriller Snabba Cash.
The movie follows three stories set in the world of organized crime that eventually connect. At the centre of the film is a hustler turned money launderer (played by Efron). His character wants to get rich by smuggling cocaine.
The movie, which loosely translates to Easy Money, will be produced by the 22-year-old actor for Warner Bros.
Efron’s latest film, Charlie St. Cloud, is due for release in October.
