Yom Ha'atzmaut Concert Cancelled
The Zionist Federation announced that its Yom Ha’atzmaut concert in London, England had to be cancelled. The event was supposed to a part of the city’s celebration of Israel’s 62nd anniversary of its independence. However, the volcanic ash cloud in Europe made it impossible for the artists to fly to London.
Headliner and Israeli singer Achinoam Nini has announced that her band won’t be able to reach Europe. Five other scheduled musical acts will also not be in attendance. Earlier last week, singer Mira Awad pulled out of her appearance with Nini after reportedly receiving death threats.
London’s celebration, however, still continues. The event will feature Israeli food, dancing as well as performances from stand-up comics and a London-based Israeli band. People who purchased tickets for the concert will be allowed to attend the event free of charge.
