One half of MTV’s The After Show duo will be leaving Canadian soil to start a new career in Los Angeles. Former MTV host Jessi Cruickshank announced on her Twitter on July 28, “The rumours are true. After 4 years, 102+ After Shows and many a questionable outfit, I am moving to LA for a job opportunity there...”

The homegrown talent was the co-host of the highly-rated program The After Show. The 30-minute program debuted in 2006 as a follow-up to reality shows such as The Hills and The City. Cruickshank shared the MTV stage with colleague Dan Levy to recap MTV’s programs and give their insights into pop culture news.

Upon the announcement of her departure, MTV has also revealed that it will be cancelling The After Show. "We can't imagine doing The After Show without both Dan and Jessi together it just wouldn't be the same, so we are not renewing that show," Brad Schwartz, senior vice-president and general manager at Much MTV Group, CTV Inc., said on July 28 to the press.

Cruickshank admitted that she received a television offer from Hollywood less than a month ago, but remains coy about the specifics of her new gig. However, Cruickshank said that she still plans to appear in various CTV programs in the future. Meanwhile Levy, the other half of the Jewish pair of hosts, will be getting his own program. Schwartz said, “Dan will have his own exciting new show starting this fall and you won't want to miss that."
