Joseph Gordon-Levitt's role in Batman revealed
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is confirmed for the new Batman movie, but who will he play?
The Dark Knight Rises, the final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, is set to be released in the summer of 2012. Christian Bale will return in the title role and will be joined by Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
It was originally speculated that Levitt would be playing either Robin or The Riddler, but Variety has reported that he’ll be tackling the role of Alberto Falcone. For those of you unfamiliar with the original comics, Alberto Falcone is the son of mafia kingpin Carmine Falcone. Young Falcone wasn’t allowed to get into the “family business,” so he was sent off to receive his education at Harvard and Oxford. Now that he’s returned, Gotham City is met with “The Holiday Killer.”
Update:
Entertainment Weekly has just announced that Levitt will not be playing Falcone, but is definitely in the film. We're confused. Now it’s just a matter of deciding which source you trust more: Variety or Entertainment Weekly? Christopher Nolan is known to be the master of secrets, so until you hear it from his mouth, it might be safest to believe nothing at all.
