America Loves Casey...For Now
Could be song choice, could be his makeover. Whatever it is, Casey's back on America's good side.
Well, folks, Casey didn't get the horns last night on American Idol. In fact, host Ryan Seacrest told young Casey that if he knew just how many of the more than 55-million votes (a record-breaker for the show) he received last night, he'd "be proud."
So why was he nearly booted last week and totally safe from elimination this week? Hard to say. Perhaps America is thankful that he trimmed that wild mane of his (I know I am). Perhaps it was his sweet rendition of Elton John's classic "Your Song" that melted voters. We'll likely never know.
At this point we know three things:
1. Our man Casey might not win the title, but for now he's safe and definitely going on the Top 10 tour.
2. America prefers Casey to both Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia both ladies were kicked off last night.
3. MTV reports that Cafe Aroma, in Casey's hometown of Idyllwild, California, just named a dish on their menu after the hairy singer: the Casey Abrams Gnocchi Alfredo.
(It's possible that number three is an April Fools' gag. I'm pretty gullible.)
