A year after Megan Fox was fired from the set of "Transformers 3", director Michael Bay reveals the reason behind her ouster.

According to Bay, Steven Spielberg – one of the producers of the film – was outraged after Fox compared Bay's strict on-set conduct to Hitler during a press interview.

"You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said fire her right now," said Bay, adding that he agreed to do so even though he was not personally offended by Fox's comments.

Although rumors about the cause for dismissal surfaced already a year ago, Spielberg's involvement has only now been revealed. Fox was replaced by lingerie model Rosie Huntingdon-Whitley.

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the third sequel in the Transformers series, is scheduled to be released at the beginning of July and will probably compete against the latest Harry Potter film for the title of summer 2011 Hollywood blockbuster.
