Ashley Baylen (AB): Was there a moment when you realized modeling would be a career instead of a hobby or passion?
Sarai Givaty (SG): Modeling was never a passion of mine, it was always acting and music, though modeling was one of the best things happening to me at a young age. I came from a small town in Israel call Tiberias and modeling was my ticket out to the main city Tel Aviv and then later the world. Although modeling and acting are very different from each other, having the experience of being in front of a camera was defiantly an advantage.
AB: In your weak moments, what food item do you allow yourself to pig out on?
SG: Late at night I would def rather have more cheese, more chocolate and more wine! I actually believe that if one doesn't want to gain weight they shouldn't deprive themselves from what they want to eat. Don't have the chicken if you want the steak or the salad if you crave a sandwich cause you going to end up thinking about it afterwards. Have exactly what you love and since you are treating yourself reduce the quantities. it works for me. I spend my days worrying about a lot of things and food is not one of them.
AB: When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
SG: My work is my passion so I would spend most of my free time playing the guitar or the piano, read a script. when my brain shuts down I would go windsurfing and skeet shooting.
AB: Rapid fire. First thing that comes to mind. What's your favorite movie?
SG: Bridesmaids - lol non-stop!!
SG: Florence and the Machine
SG: Night by Elie Wiesel
AB: TV Show?
SG: Everything by Apple, They get me each time.
AB: Fashion Designer?
SG: Gypsy 05. I could wear it every single day of my life.
AB: Was there ever a moment when you wanted to switch careers? If so, what career would you have chosen?
SG: Between acting, music, and modeling I couldn't think about anything else. There was a point where I wanted to paint more but that only lasted a year or two. I'm sure I’ll go back to it when I get older.
AB: What do you regard as your biggest achievement?
SG: Being able not to compromise on what I do with my time. I worked hard to get to this place. I only take projects I fully enjoy.
AB: You have unlimited funds to plan your dream vacation. Tell me about it. Who would you bring?
SG: I would take like 50 close friends and family of mine to an island, maybe Hawaii or Greece and bring a rabbi and some more spiritual speakers, yoga instructors and musicians and have everyone take a whole month there to treat their body mind and soul.
AB: Share something about yourself that we may not know.
SG: I always sleep with the light on when I'm alone. cause when I wake up it takes me a few minuets to figure out in which country I am and where is the nearest wall.
AB: What's your biggest fear?
SG: Feeling empty
AB: Can you provide a piece of advice for anyone considering entering the world of modeling?
SG: Enjoy it, it’s a great ride. Be responsible and treat people on set with kindness. A shoot is a joined effort and it works best when everyone feels appreciated.
