Roseanne Barr Running For President
Former sitcom star announces intentions for US presidency on "Tonight Show With Jay Leno"
"You know, Jay, I decided that since you're the one that got Arnold Schwarzenegger elected as governor of California, that I wanted to make my announcement here on your show because I really wanted to ask for your support. My announcement is that I am running for president of the United States,” the 58 year-old said.
Barr currently stars in the Lifetime Network’s Roseanne’s Nuts, a reality show following the sitcom star running a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii.
Obviously, this was not a whimsical decision, as the quondam sitcom star already knows who will be her VP running mate.
“I've got to solve all the world's problems. I'm totally serious because I want to be part of the debates, I want to represent the taxpayers and in fact, I'm choosing the taxpayers as my vice-president.”
With regards to her platform, Barr said that she would eliminate taxes, forgive student loans and all loans, for that matter, and push the use of vegetables rather than money.
"I'm not for either party because they both suck and they're both a bunch of criminals. I've made up my own party called America's Green Tea party,” she added.
