Paul McCartney Weds Fiancée Nancy Shevell
Paul McCartney marries Nancy Shevell at a small ceremony
Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, married American heiress Nancy Shevell at a register office in London on Sunday.
The couple was wed at The Old Marylebone Town Hall in London, with only 30 guests in attendance at the civil ceremony.
Among the guests were McCartney’s quondam band mate, Ringo Starr, and the bride’s second cousin, Barbara Walters, who described the ceremony as “beautiful and wonderful”.
"Terrific, thank you. I feel married. I feel absolutely wonderful," stated Sir Paul, 69, when asked how he felt.
"The wedding is in keeping with the way Paul and Nancy have conducted their entire relationship - low-key, understated and fuelled by goodwill. Neither of them wanted a huge fuss, and the main priority for both was family," a source close to the happy couple told the Daily Mirror.
Shevell , 51, hails from a wealthy Jewish New Jersey family. Her father is the owner of a trucking company called New England Motor Freight (NEMF). Reportedly, said company generates over $400 million US annually.
McCartney has trod down the aisle thrice now- Shevell twice. Today is particularly poignant, as it would be John Lennon’s 71st birthday.
