Sarah and Susan Silverman
Last Tuesday, Sarah Silverman and her sister Susan, participated in a discussion at the Boston University School of Management on their “Jewy-ness”.

The event was hosted by the Elie Wiesel Center for Judaic Studies and a College of Arts & Sciences religious department. The impetus for the occasion was to broaden the focus of Judaic studies from anti-Semitism and the Holocaust. Michael Zank, director of ‘The Other Within program’ that sponsored the talk, believed that Sarah and Susan Silverman would be the ideal guests. Susan Silverman is a BU Alumni and a former Rabbi turned adoption advocate currently living in Jerusalem. Zank described Sarah as the “self-absorbed poster child of Generation Me,” which would obviously appeal to the students at the university.

The night was entitled “Sister Talk” and focused primarily on their family, the difficulties of growing up in a Christian neighbourhood, and their thoughts on Judaism.

Boston University has uploaded the entire talk. Enjoy!
