Kobe Bryant is the latest basketball player to be associated with the JCC. Last month, Miami Heat’s LeBron James joined a pickup game at the JCC in his hometown of Cleveland. Earlier this week, an anonymous source revealed Amar’re Stoudemire’s interest in opening a Hebrew School that would teach language and Jewish history. And now, Laker’s star Kobe Bryant held a private training session at the JCC in Irvine, CA.

According to TMZ, Bryant arrived at the JCC with a trainer, asking to use the basketball court to work on shooting drills and cardio training.

The session lasted for more than an hour, while the JCC members watched with amazement from inside the gymnasium.

The NBA lockout is officially over, but the players aren’t expected to return for training with their teams for another couple days. I suppose Bryant wanted to sharpen his skills and get a head start.
