David Lee Roth Reunites with Van Halen
After 17 years, David Lee Roth will join Van Halen for their 40th anniversary tour.
Rockers have been speculating for months whether or not David lee Roth will reunite with Van Halen for their 40th anniversary tour. The band has now confirmed, through a series of video clips at Van-Halen.com, that the famed lead singer will join the 2012 tour.
Last month, Van Halen signed a record deal with Interscope. They are currently working on their first full-length studio album featuring David Lee Roth since 1984. The band has not released an album for 13 years (with or without Roth)- their most recent being “Van Halen III” in 1998.
The 2012 tour will feature David Lee Roth on lead vocals, Eddie Valen Halen on lead guitar, Wolfgang Van Halen on bass, and Alex Van Halen on drums. Replacements singers Sammy Hagar and Gary Cherone, who have been taking turns as front man since Roth left the group in 1985, will not join the tour.
Tickets for the much-anticipated show will go on sale January 10th, and are expecting to sell out within minutes.
