Alicia Silverstone’s Bear Blue Named Worst Celebrity Baby Name

Alicia Silverstone with Bear BluBabyNames.com, a popular website for expecting parents to browse popular and unique names, ran a poll to discover the best and worst celebrity baby names of 2011. Over 10,000 people voted… and Alicia Silverstone’s son, Bear Blue, tied with Mariah Carey’s twin boy, Moroccan, as the year’s worst male name.
Tania Peterson, former Top Chef Just Desserts contestant, received the honour of choosing the worst female name for her newborn, Zuzu Audrey.
So now that the worst names are out of the way, which celebrity selected the unique name that will set trends for years to come? Singer P!nk and motorcross star Carey Hart’s daughter, Willow Sage Hart, won best female name. Rapper Ne-yo and his girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, got the top male baby names honors for their choice of Mason Evan Smith.
A couple others on the worst list included Bryan Adams’ daughter Mirabella Bunny and Kevin James’ son Kannon.
Many expectant parents want to choose a unique name for their baby. Although some celebrities take it a little too far, BabyNames.com founder Jennifer Moss says “celebrity parents have a huge influence on baby name trends.”
”As long as the names aren't too far out, you could see celebrity-chosen names hitting the top ten within a year,” Moss explained.
