Roseanne Plays Mobile Home ‘Surrogate Mother’ for NBC
Roseanne's Downwardly Mobile has been picked up for NBC's fall season.
NBC has announced a few of the new pilots that have been picked up for the fall of 2012, including Roseanne’s Downwardly Mobile, Jimmy Fallon’s unnamed sitcom, Animal Kingdom, and Go On.
Former Roseanne writer, Eric Gilliand, and Barr have teamed together again for Downwardly Mobile, a multi-camera sitcom that will follow the proprietor of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to all of the unique people who live there in a challenging economy.” Barr will play the lead character.
Jimmy Fallon’s new sitcom will follow three 30-something guys who “enjoy the adventures of parenting despite the fact they haven’t grown up themselves.” It is unknown whether Fallon will star in the show. Currently, he is only listed as the executive producer.
Animal Kingdom is a new single-camera workplace comedy, a la The Office, that takes place in a veterinary clinic. The lead character is being called a “House-like veterinarian who loves animals but usually hates their owners.”
Finally, Go On comes to us from Friends’ Scott Silveri. It is also a single-camera comedy about an “irreverent yet charming sportscaster who tries to move on from loss but reluctantly finds surprising solace from the members of his mandatory group therapy session.”
