Amy Winehouse’s parents, Mitch and Janis, received a standing ovations at last night’s Grammy Awards when they came on stage to accepted the late singer’s award.

Amy Winehouse won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her ‘Body and Soul’ duet with Tony Bennett.

Mitch addressed the crowd: “We shouldn't be here. Our darling daughter should be here. These are the cards that we're dealt.”

Mitch also described Amy’s love for Tony Bennett and the song they performed together.

"Singing with Tony was something she was so excited about. Body and Soul is one of my favourite songs, so it was even more special. When she recorded it I asked her if she knew the words and she said, 'Dad, I've heard you singing it for 25 years. Of course I know the words.'"

"I'm so proud of Amy. Her memory will live longer than any of us. Thank you," Amy’s mother Janis added.

After the awards ceremony, Mitch posted a message on his Twitter account reading, “Amy got her Grammy. We are so proud of her.”
