Graphic Novel ‘I Killed Adolf Hitler’ to Hit Big Screen
Jason's award winning graphic novel to be adapted for the big screen
‘I Killed Adolf Hitler’, created by a Norwegian cartoonist known simply as ‘Jason’, has been optioned by Studio Eight.
‘I Killed Adolf Hitler’ won the 2007 Eisner Award. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘I Killed Adolf Hitler’ “follows the adventures of a hit man who encounters complications after traveling back in time to 1938 to assassinate Hitler.” Apparently, the contract killer botches his assignment, sending the Fuhrer forward into modern day.
Originally published by Fantagraphics Books, the big screen version will be adapted by DC Walker of Up Country Productions.
Jason’s comic style is often compared to ‘Tintin’ creator, Herge. It is unknown at this point if the film version will keep with Jason’s original comic styling or if the production company will use motion capture like Steven Spielberg’s recent ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.’
