Adam Sandler Racks Up the Razzie Nominations

The funny-man accrues 11 nominations for the awards recognizing the worst in film.

Adam Sandler Racks Up the Razzie Nominations
Deemed the other, other awards ceremony, the Golden Raspberry (or Razzie for short) is the irreverent awards recognizing the very worst in cinema. Each year, folks in the moving pictures business wait with baited breath for the Razzie nominations to be announced – and Adam Sandler has the special distinction of racking up a record-breaking 11 nominations for the 32nd annual ceremony.

Sandler beat Eddie Murphy’s previous record of 5 nominations in 2007, with 3 cinematic gems: Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, Jack and Jill, and the mildly tolerable, Just Go with It. Notable nominations that Sandler has accrued, includes both worst actor and actress, for his turn playing twins Jack and Jill.

"It's almost karmic for someone to have made that much razz-able stuff in one year. He has angered someone really powerful, I would say," said John Wilson, founder of the Golden Raspberry Awards, to the Associated Press.

Other films bestowed with a plethora of Razzie nominations, include New Year’s Eve, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. The awards will be handed out on April Fools Day.
