Sarah Palin: Hollywood Lies are Hollywood Lies
Sarah Palin accuses ‘Game Change’ director, Jay Roach, of being pro-leftist and pro-Barack Obama
Jay Roach’s new film, Game Change, premieres this Saturday on HBO. It follows the events leading up to bringing Alaskan Governor, Sarah Palin, on as GOP VP candidate and provides a window into the 2008 election.
The HBO movie is based upon John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s non-fiction bestseller of the same time. Julianne Moore takes on the role of Sarah Palin, while Ed Harris co-stars as John McCain.
The former V.P candidate is not pleased with the film, or Moore’s portrayal of her
“Hollywood lies are Hollywood lies,” she says
Although the film is based on real interviews, televised events, and the first hand accounts of 25 inside sources, Palin has deemed Game Change historical fiction.
She explains that “none [of the sources] are on record nor is their level of involvement in the campaign disclosed. Not one source is on the record in either the book or in the movie and it is clear why.”
Additionally, Palin accuses Jay Roach and Danny Strong of drumming “up their money and their machine and their machine happens to be very pro-leftist, pro Barack-Obama… there at HBO.”
Palin’s reaction to the film is actually quite surprising. Many news sources and critics have stated that the film actually does not portray Palin in a negative light, and that in fact, it could have been much harsher.
The L.A Times describes Game Change as “a surprisingly kind film about Sarah Palin.”
Fox News states that Game Change is “fair- and balanced”.
If you have not had a chance to see the trailer yet, check it out. I dare say that Julianne Moore’s portrayal of Sarah Palin is more dead on than Tina Fey’s.
