Innovative Start-Up Enables Personalized Passover Haggadahs

Jewish households hear the same complaints every Passover, especially from the youngsters; do we really need to read this again? Isn’t there a more modern version available? Can’t we talk about something else instead?

Well, it seems that New York-based DIY Holiday Company, LLC has been listening to our complaints and invented a solution- DIYSeder.com.

DIYSeder.com is a new digital service with original themed content, fresh designs, and an elegant and easy interface that enables users to create personalized Haggadahs for their Seder. After the customer makes all of their selections from themes including; traditional, Current Events, Judeo-Christian, Parody Songs, Slightly Irreverent Humour, Social Justice, and others, a customized PDF is created.

"DIY Holiday came about because my family couldn't find what we needed – an easy way to create and share a more relevant, memorable Passover Seder,” explained the company’s founder, Toby Sanders.

The DIY Seder team understand how bust and stressed Seder hosts are during the holiday season, so they made the process of Haggadah creation very intuitive and fast- only 15 minutes.

DIYSeder.com allows Jewish families to incorporate the ancient text into modern times, while still getting the important message across to all involved. Besides the contemporary themes, DIYSeder has many features including; the ability to add photos or text, a Seder Length Estimator that displays in real-time, and child-friendly content that helps kids have fun learning.

During Beta testing, DIYSeder discovered quite a few interesting things. A surprising number of people were seeking interfaith options, users loved the idea of being able to incorporate humour, and modern Jewish families want modern Haggadahs.

"Our take allows families to decide which traditions to adhere to strictly and which traditions to relax,” Sanders said. "While not for everyone, the DIY Seder customizable approach aims to engage families in the re-telling of the Exodus story and bring them back to the Passover table for the holiday celebration.”

Passover is in just a few weeks. Try something new thing year with a personalized Haggadah at DIYSeder.com
