Diary of a Wimpy Kid’s Zachary Gordon Join’s ABC Comedy
The wimpy kid will become the kid of an unemployed corporate mom
Zachary Gordon is best known to audiences as Diary of a Wimpy Kid’s protagonist, Greg Heffley. The series’ newest installment, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, is set for a 2012 release, but now the actor has landed a leading role on the small screen in a new ABC comedy pilot.
According to Deadline.com, Gordon will join Kari Lizer’s Warner Bros. TV project with Mary McCormack in it’s lead role. The story follows Hilary Pfieffer-Dunne (McCormack), “a high-powered executive who, having dominated the corporate American for years, now faces the biggest challenge of her life when she finds herself unemployed and acting as a full-time mom to her two kids.”
Gordon has been cast as one of these two kids, Dylan. He is replacing Aidan Potter who was originally cast in the role. According to Deadline.com, the show’s creators decided to recast Dylan in order to make the character appear older.
You can also catch Gordon as the voice of Gil on Bubble Guppies and in RL Stine’s upcoming The Haunting Hour.
