Take a Look Inside Hugh Hefner’s Little Black Book
The Playboy head honcho’s little black book will be on display at the Chicago Historu Museum
Hugh Hefner has the most desired ‘little black book’ in North America, especially for men within a certain demographic. The good news is the Playboy magnate’s private book will be on display for all to see at the Chicago History Museum. The bad news is that the majority of the women featured inside of it are in their 80’s or deceased.
Hef’s little black book, along with a “While You Were Away” message note, is being displayed as part of the museum’s “Unexpected Chicago” exhibit beginning on Friday.
Hef used this book in the 1950’s when he was in the early stages of building the Playboy empire. While living in Chicago, he would jot down notes about women he met to gain greater insight for the magazine.
According to the museum, Hefner used this little black book “while his celebrity was on the rise, building a world empire of fantasy and desire where readers could escape their troubles by getting caught in the teasing gaze of the centerfold-of-the-month.”
Hefner launched Playboy in 1953 with the infamous Marilyn Monroe first issue. Playboy celebrates 60 years next year.
