‘Gangster Squad’ Trailer Released: Sean Penn as Jewish Mob Boss, Mickey Cohen
The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, and Giovanni Ribisi
The first trailer for the much anticipated fall release of ‘Gangster Squad’ is finally available.
‘Gangster Squad’ follows the story of 1940’s Jewish mobster, Mickey Cohen. Cohen arrives in Los Angeles and creates mayhem, pissing out LAPD Sgt. John O’Mara who has been tasked to stop him.
Mickey Cohen has been portrayed on screen in the past by Harvey Keitel (in ‘Bugsy’) and Paul Guilfoyle (in ‘L.A Confidential’). This time around the famous mobster is depicted by Sean Penn. Sgt. O’Mara is played by Josh Brolin, and police officer Jerry Wooters is played by Ryan Gosling.
“Doesn’t seem right that he should have so much, while others have so little,” Wooters says in the trailer of Cohen.
Cohen’s girlfriend is played by ‘The Amazing Spiderman’s’, Emma Stone, while other supporting roles are filled by Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, and Giovanni Ribisi.
‘Gangster Squad’ comes out in October.
