Judge Judy Launches ‘What Would Judy Say?’ Web Series
The TV judge finally joins the social media bandwagon with a site encouraging fans to ask her questions and discuss common issues.
Judge Judy is like sauerkraut… you either love her or despise her. Luckily, she is very cognizant of that reality. In the introduction vlog on her new advice website, ‘What Would Judy Say?’, she opens with “Don’t kvetch and complain. If you’re not a Judge Judy fan, find another forum.”
I happen to be a fan of Judge Judy. I don’t necessarily like her television show, but I find she has a unique way of making even the most complex scenarios seem very simple and underwhelming. My hope is that she brings that same approach to her vlog series, which is intended to answers viewers questions and discuss common issues.
The intro blog, unfortunately, does come off as very scripted which goes against Judge Judy’s television persona of being brash, bold, and always thinking on her feet… but the TV judge has mentioned her dislike of the Internet and social media many times, so it’s possible that her initial awkwardness could be due to her uneasiness with stepping over into the dark side.
I believe that as the weeks come and go, we will see more of the natural Judge Judy that we’ve all grown to love over the 16 years she’s been on air.
On ‘What Would Judy Say’, she intends to open up a new topic for conversation a couple of times each month. She even suggests that some of the public submissions may end up in a book she’s writing.
