Andy Samberg is Cuckoo on BBC Three
With baited breath, we waited to see what Andy Samberg would do after his seven-year stint on Saturday Night Live. Well, he’s doing the only logical thing – jumping o’er the Pond. Samberg will star in an upcoming six-part comedy series on BBC Three, titled Cuckoo. The 33-year-old will play a slacker who weds a young British woman (Tamla Kari), much to her family’s chagrin.

"The best of British meets the toast of Hollywood. We hope Cuckoo cements the special relationship between our two great countries. I imagine Obama and [British Prime Minister David] Cameron will be watching closely,” jested Ash Atalla, executive producer of the show.

"When Ken (Greg Davies) and Lorna (Helen Baxendale) collect their daughter (Tamla Kari) from the airport, they're horrified to learn that she's returned from her gap year with more than just a henna tattoo and braids in her hair. At the arrival gate, she promptly introduces them to her new husband, Cuckoo (Andy Samberg) - the squared-jawed, self-appointed spiritual ninja who is now their son-in-law," BBC Three said in a statement describing the comedy.

Set in the English Midlands, Cuckoo will be shot this summer, and air sometime in the fall.
