Among those invited to join the Academy are Israeli director Joseph Cedar (who directed the critically-acclaimed film Footnote) and two-time Oscar winner Michel Michel Hazanavicius who’s smash hit The Artist emerged as the front-runner at basically every awards.

The members who accept the membership will be invited to an exclusive reception in September.
