The End of Matkot - The Movie
Israel filmmakers set out to stop Israel's most popular, and annoying, sport in this satirical short film.
If you've ever been fortunate enough to visit Tel Aviv’s breathtaking beaches, then you've undoubtedly heard the annoying sound of balls being swatted back and forth by paddles. That annoyance is the umistakable sound Israel's laziest sport (unless bocce ball became popular) known as Matkot.
Two Israeli filmmakers, Tom Shinan and Liran Goldberg, decided to stop the annoying game in this satirical short documentary highlighting Israel's – and Israeli’s - infamous chutzpah.
Shinan and Goldberg captured Israel, and Israelis, brilliantly. It's a great short film that, if nothing else, will make you much more aware of your surroundings next time you visit the beaches of Tel Aviv.
