Walter Isaacson, author of the internationally bestselling biography entitled “Steve Jobs”, discussed the late Apple CEO’s admiration for Mark Zuckerberg at a recent event with Facebook board member, Don Graham of the Washington Post.

“I once asked Jobs who he admired in Silicon Valley… Mark’s was the first name of his lips,” Isaacson said.

Isaacson went on to explain that Jobs’ admiration for the young CEO was partly due to his “intuitive feel” for the social network he created.

According to Business Insider, Isaacson shared that Jobs “felt an odd kinship to Mark” and appreciated Zuckerberg’s passion and willingness to “do stuff that allows him to be on shifting sands- his willing to cannibalize old things.”

Additionally, Issacson remarked that Jobs never pursued social media after his failed Ping effort “because Mark did it so well.”

"There's not a need for a whole lot of social networks, and Facebook has got it licked," Jobs told Isaacson.
