James Franco Lands Yet Another Gig: Teacher at USC
The former Yale/NYU student will be teaching a film course at USC
James Franco, the multi-talented multi-hyphenate, has added one more job to his constantly expanding resume. The USC film department has invited him to teach a class at the university.
Franco is no stranger to teaching. Last year, he taught a course at NYU. According to The Huffington Post, an unnamed student called Franco’s NYU course “unlike all the other courses I’ve taken.”
The class at USC will be co-taught by Franco’s business partner, Vince Jolivette.
According to The LA Times, the class will require students to direct a short film no longer than 10 minutes. The ultimate goal will be to combine all of the projects into one longer film.
The movies created in the class, referred to as “The Labyrinth”, will explore “the unknown, the unexplained and the unimaginable,” according to an email sent to USC students from the School of Cinematic Arts.
The Franco-led class is expected to begin in the spring.
