Lena Dunham & Zoe Kravitz Sing ‘You Don’t Own Me’ For Election PSA [VIDEO]
A large selection of famous ladies united to urge women to vote against Romney
With less than 3 weeks left until the presidential election, new campaigns, promotional videos, commercials, and PSA’s are being released by the minute.
In this inventive PSA, female celebrity activists have joined together to sing/lip-sync Lesley Gore’s 1964 hit “You Don’t Own Me”. The video is interspersed with political messages about Mitt Romney and the Republican Party’s potential plans to cut all funding to Planned Parenthood, overturn Roe v. Wade, and compromise other women’s rights issues.
The PSA features Lena Dunham, Zoe Kravitz, Carrie Brownstein, Karen Elson, Leah Siegel, Alia Shawkat, Miranda July, and many more.
"I recorded 'You Don't Own Me' in 1964 and it's hard for me to believe, but we're still fighting for the same things we were then. Yes, ladies, we've got to come together, get out there and vote, and protect our bodies," says Gore. "They're ours. Please vote."
