Daniel Radcliffe to Star in ‘Frankenstein’
The former ‘Harry Potter’ star might sign on for the role of Igor
Former ‘Harry Potter’ star, Daniel Radcliffe, is in final negotiations for a starring role in Fox’s new version of ‘Frankenstein’.
Director Paul McGuigan and ‘Chronicle’ writer, Max Landis, will be placing a revisionist twist on Mary Shelley’s classic monster tale.
Although the handsome Radcliffe would be much better suited for the role of Victor Frankenstein, he is being considered for the role of the monster-maker’s loyal assistant, Igor.
Igor has a pronounced hunchback, and is described as “pathologically dirty, with long hair and wearing old clown clothes,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story is said to focus on the twisted relationship between Igor and Dr. Frankenstein.
Also according to THR, many sources are suggesting the project has a circus tone throughout.
‘Frankenstein’ is expected to begin shooting in the fall after Radcliffe’s run in the West End play ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’.
Radcliffe has three upcoming theatrical releases; ‘Kill Your Darlings’, ‘The F Word’, and ‘Horns’.
