Bette Midler Sings ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ to Fan Dying of Cancer [VIDEO]

Veteran Broadway and film actress, Bette Midler, fulfilled the wishes of a dying fan during an emotional phone call.

Anna Greenberg, a lifelong fan, met Midler at a movie premiere last year. She shared details of her battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, which deeply touched the ‘Beaches’ star.

When Midler discovered that Greenberg was losing her battle, she called her in the hospital to deliver an emotional message and sing one of her favorite songs to her.

Caught on video from Greenberg’s hospital bedside, Midler tells her “I’m thinking about you. You are such an angel, you are such a wonderful soul.”. She goes on to sing one of her most famous ballads, ‘The Wind Beneath My Wings’ to her.

Greenberg, only 28-years-old, passed away just three days after the phone call from Midler.

Midler has since invited Greenberg’s parents, Bruce and Alayne, to her current Broadway show ‘I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers’. The couple have accepted, stating that they intend to “honor” their daughter with Midler at the performance.
