President Obama Goes Golfing With ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’s’ Larry David
Obama joined David on his last day of family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard
An American President, a comedy writer, and a sports team owner walk onto a golf course… what sounds like the opening of a really bad joke is actually the summation of a leisurely day in Martha’s Vineyard this past weekend.
On Saturday, President Obama joined ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ star, Larry David, Boston Celtics part owner, Glenn Hutchins, and former U.S trade representative, Ron Kirk, for 5 hours of golf at Farm Neck Golf Club in Oak Bluffs, Mass.
President Obama was visiting Martha’s Vineyard with his wife and daughters for a family vacation. He kept a low profile, according to the Associated Press, spending the majority of his time golfing. In addition to golfing, he joined his family for beach fun on a private beach on the island’s south shore, and went out for dinner on Saturday night at The Boathouse Restaurant, which overlooks the harbor in historic Edgartown.
Although the President acknowledged photographers and crowds with a wave while on the golf course, he only spoke publically once, to “condemn escalating violence in Egypt”, according to AP.
