Joseph Gordon-Levitt Promotes ‘Don Jon’ on Porn Sites

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, ‘Don Jon’, is set to hit theatres after a success festival run on September 27th. In order to ensure the film is advertised to the appropriate demographic, Gordon-Levitt admitted to a group of Redditor’s that he bought out ad space on popular porno websites.

On Wednesday evening, Joseph Gordon-Levitt joined a number of fans of Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything). One of the Redditors participating in the conversation, GoD alum Tom Cheredar, asked ‘Don Jon’s’ lead actor/director/writer if a marketing budget was dedicated to porn sites.

“Did you really use part of your marketing budget for DON JON to advertise on popular porn video sites,” Chereder wrote.

“Definitely” Gordon-Levitt responded, adding “We’re also advertising on ‘chick flick’ stuff and on the NFL. All of which are media that is featured in DON JON. It’s a movie about media culture, it should be in the media!”

‘Don Jon’ follows a gym-obsessed womanizing porn addict who falls in love with a Jersey girl named Barbara (Scarlet Johansson).

So, according to Gordon-Levitt, if you like porn, football, or love stories, you will love ‘Don Jon’. I think that sums up about everyone in North America.
