New on DVD
The one thing almost every movie in this week's DVD releases share is comedy. There's family comedy ("Monsters vs. Aliens"), romantic comedy ("Management") and everything in between.
In “Monsters vs. Aliens,” Susan Murphy (voiced by Reese Witherspoon) is clobbered up by a meteor filled with intergalactic junk. She mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall, earning her an instant label of “monster” and the nickname of Ginormica. Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett and Kiefer Sutherland are amongst those who lend their voice to the animated family flick.
Sam Mendes (“Revolutionary Road,” “Jarhead”) directs “Away We Go,” which focuses on a couple getting ready to have a baby. Six months into Veronica’s pregnancy, the couple (played by John Krasinski and SNL alumna Maya Rudolph) find out that Burt’s parents are soon leaving Colorado, eliminating their main reason of staying in the city. The expecting couple embark on a journey to visit friends and family with the goal of evaluating cities.

Jennifer Aniston plays a traveling arts saleswoman in “Management,” a romantic comedy. Her character tries to shake off a flaky manager of a motel (“Sunshine Cleaning”'s Steve Zahn) who then falls in love with her and can’t seem to leave her alone.
First a play, then a 1920’s film, and now a remake (sort of), the Noel Coward classic "Easy Virtue" stars Jessica Biel this time around as Larita Whitakker, a glamorous and sexy American racer who marries a young Englishman, John Whittaker (Ben Barnes). However, their marriage soon turns into a nightmare when John returns to the family home with Larita by his side.
Henry Carter’s clientele includes a once-famous actress (Saffron Burrows), an obsessive compulsive agent (Dallas Roberts) and a young writer with insecurity issues (Mark Webber). The psychiatrist (played by Kevin Spacey) has been approached to take on his first non-famous patient, a troubled teenage girl who lives nowhere near the Hollywood Hills. “Shrink” also features Jack Huston and Laura Ramsey.
