Canada’s finest collaborated to record a song for Haiti relief. The all-star ensemble of 57 artists includes Nelly Furtado, Justin Bieber, Drake, Fefe Dobson, Jacob Hoggard from Hedley, Jully Black, Kardinal Offishall, Avril Lavigne, Lights and Sam Roberts. The record is a re-make of K’Naan’s "Wavin’ Flag."

Produced by music icon Bob Ezrin, the artists gathered in Vancouver’s The Warehouse Studio on Feb. 18, 2010 to record the single.

“I’m still in awe of how quickly this all came together. We had a vision and a small window of opportunity to make it happen, and within a few short days, the artists were engaged, the studio was set, and the song was recorded,” said Ezrin in a press release. “In all my years in the business, I've never experienced anything quite like the energy and unity of these young Canadian artists as they came together to help the people of Haiti. They did so with no egos, just love, passion and a magnificent generosity of spirit. It was fantastic.”

The single was released today at 12:01 a.m. All proceeds of Young Artists for Haiti will benefit Free the Children, War Child Canada and World Vision and their relief efforts in Haiti. Canadian clothing and lifestyle brand, Roots, will also launch Young Artists for Haiti t-shirts available for purchase online and at various Roots stores. Sales of Roots t-shirts will also go to the three charities.
