If you were ever wondering why Kill Your Darlings star Daniel Radcliffe is so refreshingly normal, you should thank his parents. Apparently, Radcliffe was banned from ever getting a tattoo by his dear mom and dad.

Of course, the more your parents try to keep you away from something – the more interesting it becomes to you. In the case of Daniel Radcliffe, the actor has become a huge fan of body art and is even considering getting some done for himself.

“I want the line from Beckett – ‘Try, fail, try again and fail better’ either on my arm or chest,” He told Daily Star before quickly adding, “Although I shouldn’t really talk about tattoos in case my mum and dad hear about it.”

Radcliffe also previously mentioned that he considered tattoos to be “really, really cool”, but he added that he wasn’t a huge admirer of One Direction‘s Harry Styles assortment of body ink. Then again, Harry Styles has some pretty out of the norm tastes as his tattoos feature everything from birds, butterflies, hip branches and ships.

When Styles’ tattoo choices were explained to Radcliffe, his response was a very witty, “Like prison tattoos? Isn’t that what you have when you’ve done five years?”
