Daniel Radcliffe has finally reached the point in his career where he’s being recognized for his merit as an actor on stage and screen instead of being introduced as “former Harry Potter star”. So, it only makes sense that he has little interest in revisiting the role that made his famous.

Earlier this week, ‘Harry Potter’ author, J.K Rowling, released a new story following the characters from her popular series as adults on her website, Pottermore.

During the Television Critics Association summer press tour, Radcliffe responded to questions about whether he would reprise the role of Harry if Rowling’s adult-version was adapted to film.

“My inclination is to say no because I don’t think it’s even a hypothetical at this moment,” he began.

“What she’s written — and I haven’t read yet but I will — I understand it’s a very short piece.”

Additionally, Radcliffe explains that Rowling’s new story sees Potter and his friends in their 30’s. “He’s 12 years older than I am now.”

Rowling’s story is written from the perspective of gossip columnist, Rita Skeeter, an infamous ‘Harry Potter’ character. She’s telling the story of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and others as they gather for the Quiddich World Cup. Rowling intentionally released the story this week to coincide with Brazil’s World Cup semi-finals.
