Don Makes a Pre-Yom Kippur Confession in New ‘Mad Mentsch’ Episode [VIDEO]
The Jewish parody version of AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ explores Don’s affinity for having more than one…
Last month, Jewbellish introduced us to a re-imagined ‘Mad Men’, one in which all of the characters are Jewish.
While the first episode explored the dynamics between Creative Director, Don Drayfus (Don Draper), Roger, Joan, and their most recent NGO client promoting an Anti-Bullying message, the parody show’s second installment focuses on Don’s predilection towards disloyalty.
Fans of the AMC period drama have developed a love/hate relationship with Mr. Draper over the show’s six seasons. We understand that he battles demons, struggles with a tumultuous childhood, and has lived the majority of his life as a lie… but does that excuse his adultery?
With ‘Mad Mentsch’, Don Drayfus is conflicted with an entirely different form of cheating.
Sitting in a dark bar, sipping a drink and smoking a cigarette, Drayfus says “I don’t know what it is. I know we shouldn’t really meet, but it’s like a breath of fresh air when we’re together… Yah I know it’s wrong.”
The camera cuts to a concerned rabbi asking, “Don, does your other rabbi know about us?”
“No, and let’s keep it that way. Rabbi Greenglass wouldn’t understand… Sometimes a man needs more than one rabbi,” Drayfus interjects, appearing sad, confused, and somewhat defeated, before offering a “L’Chaim” to the other Rabbi.
Watch Don Drayfus’ Pre-Yom Kippur confession below.
