HAIM’s unique sound, addictive instrumentals, and ethereal voices have landed them opening gigs with Julian Casablancas, Cold War Kids, Chief and The Henry Clay People and in the hearts of music fans, indie snobs, and celebrity iPods.
HAIM consists of “three sisters, and a mister”, Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim and drummer, Dash Hutton. The girls were raised playing classic rock songs with their parents in a family band called Rockinhaim. After years of playing with their parents, the sisters began writing their own material and formed HAIM.
All the HAIM girls play more than one instrument, and pride themselves on being able to switch it up while singing in three-part harmony. Este, the eldest HAIM, plays both bass and guitar, and holds a degree in Music from UCLA. Danielle, the middle HAIM, plays lead guitar and previously toured with Jenny Lewis, Cee-lo Green, and Julian Casablancas. Alana, the youngest HAIM, plays rhythm guitar, keyboard, and percussion. Dash, the non-HAIM, plays drums, and is a former member of LA bands Wires on Fire and Slang Chicken.
HAIM released a three song EP in February entitled Forever, which is also the title track. It’s available for download at the band’s website www.Haimtheband.com.
