Last Thursday, three Jewish teens, Eyal Yifrach, 10, Naftali Frenkel, 16, and Gil-ad Shaar, 16, were kidnaped while hitchhiking in the West Bank.

As a form of response, a Facebook page appeared on Friday that called for the execution of a Palestinian convict every hour until the boys were returned. By Monday morning, the page had some 15,000+ ‘likes.’

The page’s cover photo features a graphic of the three teens in blue paced alongside a photo of Palestinians convicted of murdering Israelis, with a crosshair overlayed. The slogan of “Hotfim? Hotfim!” refers to kidnapping, but is also a slang that refers to receiving a harsh punishment, referring to Palestinian prisoners. The text of the page reads that “Until the teens return-every hour we will shoot a terrorist.”

The page features photos and profiles of convicts in Israeli jails calling for their execution, with one particular photo saying that Israelis should learn from King David, who in Samuel I 30 tracks down and slaughters the Amalekites who sacked an Israelite town and imprisoned the women and children. While many of the comments were vocally supportive of the page and message, some comments in Arabic mocked Israel and the captives. Security forces intensified their search for the teens on Sunday night, with the southern areas of the West Bank being placed under curfew.

Some 100 Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials and activists have been apprehended as a part of the search, including Hamas founder Hassan Yousef.
