New iPhone 5 to be Sold in Israel as of December 14th
On December 14th, Israel will be one of 50 countries around the world that will participate in a global sales launch of the new iPhone 5, with the much heralded product available through Israel’s major mobile carriers.

Despite being a bit longer than its predecessor, the iPhone 5 is billed as the world’s thinnest smartphone.

The biggest upgrade with the new version over the iPhone 4S is its high quality “Retina” display technology, that was part of the previous model, but on the new phone, it’s been enlarged to 4 inches from 3.5 inches, creating room for five rows of icons instead of four.

The iPhone 5 also features a new location for the earphone plug-in port which was moved to the bottom of the phone and replaced the 30-pin charger with a smaller "lightning" port. Not all customers will be thrilled with that change, considering that their old iPhone accessories will no longer fit into the new plug.

To help ease the pain, Apple is offering consumers a $30 adapter that will retrofit the older model of accessories.

The iPhone 5 weighs 112 grams and is 7.6 millimeters thick, considerably thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4's 140 grams and 9.3 millimeter thickness.
