Promising “absurdity,” “surrealism,” and “puzzles,” a game about everyone’s favourite existentialist is set to arrive in 2014. And while details are still sparse, The Franz Kafka Videogame is one of this year’s most anticipated titles, and already winning awards.
The game is from indie game developer and comic artist mif2000, who was also responsible for Hamlet, or The Last Game Without MMORPG Features, shaders and Product Placement. Released in 2012, Hamlet won the hearts of audiences and critics in 2012. A point-and-click adventure game, Kafka is expected to follow a similar format as its predecessor.
As we said, details are few and far between. For example, this is their description of the protagonist:
At least they love Woody Allen as much as we do. The game will follow the protagonist, K., through scenes based on Kafka's novels and looks absolutely gorgeous.
It is expected to be released for Windows, iOS, Android, Mac, and Linux and more details can be found on their official site. But here’s their official trailer:
The Franz Kafka Videogame has also been entered for this year’s Independent Games Festival, to be held in San Francisco on March 17-21. Best of luck to mif2000 on their fresh and beautiful looking game. We can’t wait to play it.
