Katz’s Deli Gets Into the Candle Business

Now your home can smell like chocolate egg-cream!

Katz’s Delicatessen is one of the mainstays of the New York experience.

But they're more than your average deli. If you don't believe me, just check out this pair of sneakers the deli teamed up with Nike to develop, that are apparently worth $5,000.

Now 125 years old, the deli has been serving Jews and non-Jews delicious treats ranging from delectable meats and sandwiches to, well, now candles.

The deli has been celebrating its anniversary in style, with special commemorative products, like the above mentioned kicks, of course. For those who want a perhaps less expensive souvenir, the deli is now releasing a chocolate egg-cream scented candle in a special glass jar. The candle will give your home a “delicious blast from the past,” according to the deli.

Buy them here.

No plans have been announced if the candle is a one-off or the beginning of a series, but one can only hope that pastrami or corned beef bacchanals scents will soon be wafting through the homes of the particularly passionate Katz’s Deli fans.

Or maybe we’ll just stick to the sandwiches.
