At least at one point or another, either while watching Homeland, or even Archer, every one of us have thought to ourselves, damn, it would be pretty cool if I were a spy.
Working undercover, locating intelligence, using fake passports, travelling all over the world, becoming an intelligence officer certainly is enticing, at least for those who don't mind being presented with the face of danger now and then.
Well for those of you who have seriously considered a position as a member of intelligence personnel, then you're in luck: the Mossad is hiring.
The Mossad is the national intelligence agency of Israel, and one of the most prominent organizations in the Israeli Intelligence Community, among entities such as the Shin Bet and Aman.
In an unprecedented move, the agency launched a brand new, revamped website on Monday, with, it seems, the sole purpose of recruiting new individuals to join the agency.
"The goal of the upgraded site is to make the organization more accessible to potential recruits who may not be exposed to the variety of positions - in operations, intelligence, technology and cyber, and administration - available," reads a statement on the site.
The upgraded site is multilingual (available in Hebrew, Russian, English, Arabic, Persian and French) and allows potential intelligence agents to apply online. It also offers inspirational Zionist quotes like this one, from David Ben-Gurion: “History is not written, history is created.”
In a press release, Mossad director Tamir Pardo said, “The State of Israel has been – and remains – under daily, tangible threats. "We must continue to recruit the best people into our ranks so that the Mossad might continue to lead, defend and allow for the continued existence of the State of Israel."
The Mossad also released several promotional videos (see one such clip below) which cater to both men and women looking to join the renowned Israeli intelligence agency, as part of a new YouTube channel they've launched. They note that all sorts of jobs are available, from those in hightech, to those looking to work in H.R. or administration.
