Fans of the 1986 intergalactic space-parody will be enthused to hear that they can now consume the franchise in yet another form - LEGO! That is, with your support.

To celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of Mel Brooks’ Spaceballs, the themed Lego set was submitted to the LEGO Ideas forum. “In 2016 it will be the 30th anniversary of Spaceballs! So let’s make it a good one with a Spaceball Lego set!” user ‘Nvdk’ wrote on the Lego Ideas page.

This forum is where fans of the building blocks can submit their projects and where other fans can support those projects. Its a community of like-minded stay-at-home-engineers with big ideas and big dreams (cubic dreams, but dreams nonetheless).

Spaceballs: The Lego Setwas designed by user ‘Nvdk’ and includes a variety of different designs, including the winnebago-spaceship hybrid, the ‘Eagle 5’ and Captain Lone Starr, (Schwartz-saber included). As Nvdk explains on the page, the ‘Eagle 5’ aircraft is utilized to save Princess Vespa from President Skroob and Dark Helmet.

Also, Spaceballs: The Sequel Lego Setincludes ‘Spaceball 1’, “the longest spaceship in the Spaceball galaxy.” Additionally, the ‘Spaceball 1’ also comes with a novelty comb so the bad guys can ‘comb the desert’, a ‘we brake for nobody’ bumper sticker, and two Spaceball soldier figures.

Support Spaceballs: The Lego Set and ‘may the Schwartz be with you', too.

After all, this isn’t the most absurd thing you could do with Lego.
